I checked Malardi Lake today to see how far drawn down it is- there is very little water left, with lots of mud flats. There were about 150-200 shorebirds there today. Not much variation, as about 95% of the birds were either Least Sandpipers or Pectorals, but there were a couple Yellowlegs, Semi-Palmated and Spotted Sandpipers, and a Snipe. Hopefully there will be more variety as shorebird migration progresses- the habitat looks good! Lots of turtles too!
