Earlier this morning I heard and then saw a male Blue Grosbeak in another
location in Blue Earth county. The bird was singing from the top of a dead
tree along a large gravel mining pit close to the little town of Cambria in the
far north western part of the county along Hwy. 68. There's a roa
South Pond at Hamden Slough continues to have dozens of shorebirds. This
morning: Least, Baird's, and White-rumped sandpipers; Wilson's Snipe,
Wilson's Phalarope, Dowitcher (short-billed?), Greater yellowlegs, and
Pectoral Sandpiper.

Late yesterday I found a Greater White-fronted Goose associating with some
Canada Geese on a wetland about 2 miles west of New Prague along Hwy 19.
The bird was on the western end of the wetland.
Hwy 19 is a busy road with virtually no shoulders. There is a field
entrance opposite the west end
