Friday nights count was only 6 birds that
Yesterday we took a few hours to do our exercise/bird walk in Whitewater
SP, a favorite place there's been little time or energy to visit this year.
We chose Trout Run Creek trail because its length was suitable and it's
relaxing, with or without scads of birds and wildflowers. However, the
26 Swifts at Lenox School in STLP!

199 swifts in the City Hall Chimney tonight between 8:50 and 9:12
New this count was at least 7swifts entering three chimneys south of City
Hall also on Sibley St.

Between 35 - 40 swifts entered St. Ann's Church, Hamel, Hennepin Co. All in by
9:13 pm tonight. Then several bats flew out from a different side of the
building!

Three Swifts entered the chimney. Another 7 peeled off for their own
nest-sites or another roost. I suspect breeding is not quite done here, as
during count, birds were seen to enter then exit, as though feeding young.
