Along the dirt trail beside the stream, on the south end of Carleton
College Arboretum, at least two Hermit Thrushes were foraging near the
water and on the hillside, among a flock of Robins. Also present, a bit
upstream, were at least two Brown Creepers.

This afternoon Anthony Manderfeld and I did a lap at the General Mills RNA
in Golden Valley. We spotted a Northern Shrike on the west side of the
property harassing a flock of about 20 Eastern Bluebirds. We suspect this
is our resident Shrike and that it will be present for the rest of the
winter

There were 4800 cranes flying out of the refuge after sunrise this morning,
with peak numbers occurring at 8:00 or 8:15. Best viewing was along CR 70, NOT
at the parking area, but another 1/4 mile west on CR 70, just before you get to
the T in the road. County Road 3 would also offer better vie

Meadow Creek Condos on the corner of 9th Ave So & Westbrooke Way. There is a
