Along the dirt trail beside the stream, on the south end of Carleton College Arboretum, at least two Hermit Thrushes were foraging near the water and on the hillside, among a flock of Robins. This afternoon Anthony Manderfeld and I did a lap at the General Mills RNA in Golden Valley. We spotted a Northern Shrike on the west side of the property harassing a flock of about 20 Eastern Bluebirds. We suspect this is our resident Shrike and that it will be present for the rest of the winter
