right across from Seven Sisters.

Activity on Lake Winnibigoshish has begun to pick up at bit. Tundra Swans have
moved in, and there are hundreds of loons, most beyond ID range (all the closer
birds today were Common Loons). This afternoon there was a Black Scoter

Just curious...Why is the Mute Swan not being aggressively controlled in
Minnesota? Their aggressive behavior towards native waterfowl could become a
real problem for our native waterfowl, already under severe stress due to
diminishing habitat.

Staff at Baker Park Reserve have seen a mute swan cavorting with two trumpeters
on a pond next to the road to the Near Wilderness Settlement. I have seen
confirming photos. I'm not sure if it is there today.

On L Superior now at 12th St on Park Point swimming towards Canal Park. Two
other small loons farther out on lake at 31st St probably Red-throateds but too
distant and too foggy for positive ID. Might have been Pacific Loons. Kim
