An adult male Summer Tanager continues to visit the bird feeder of Kerri
Holt (Kanabec County).
A birder saw it yesterday morning (November 7) and Kerri saw it again at
7:00am this morning (November 8). It seems that it has only been seen in

Field Trip Report
While leading a trip for MRVAC, our group spent time birding at the Grey Cloud
Dunes SNA, Point Douglas county park and the Carpenter Nature Center and a few
other location
Visiting both sides of the road at 10:00am.

Sounds like a fairly un-spectacular winter finch forecast due to very good
crops of seeds, berries, cones in the boreal forests of Canada/Alaska.
In addition to our regularly occurring winter finches, Purple Finches, Pine
Siskins and Evening Grosbeaks  may be seen in larger numbers in northern MN
Ben Fritchman and I are looking at the bird now. It flew in from Lake of the
woods county at 7 AM. It is now at feeder and sits in ash trees above feeders
in Roseau Cty.
