Is it also possible, since there's reference to nesting, that he has
mistaken some Barred Owls for "snow owls"? Some Barreds are very pale in
color.

pigeons. We have never seen nor heard about a snowy owl in Roseville.
There is the pair of nesting Bald Eagles at 36 and 61, maybe he meant those?
(We live near Dale and Country Road C so are in that area a lot.)

Tuesday, on a trip to Costco in Maplewood, I overheard the gas attendant say
that there were 2 "snow owls nesting" near Dale and Hwy 36.
I was cold and it was windy and he was already 3 cars back, so I didn't ask
more about his 'story.'

I was stuck in traffic on Hwy 100 when a Snowy Owl flew over me. It was flying
west and parallel to the Cedar Lake Trail. Hopefully headed to my yard!

The Long-tailed Duck was seen at 1:00 today in about the same location as it
was yesterday. It was just a bit further upriver, nearer to the dam, on the
Benton County side of the river. I neglected to mention yesterday that it
is a male LT Duck.
