Friday Snowy Owl Reports: Lynne King photographed a Snow Owl in a tree in
Helgeland Twp near Polk Co. 68 on Friday. Hollie Chaney photographed a
Snowy Owl on a power pole sw of Angus. Gary Lund photographed a Snowy Owl
on a snowmobile trail south of the border in Roseau County (Sec 36, Twp.
Sibley County: Snowy Owl at County 9 and 260th St. Second Snowy Owl at County
8-9 a half- mile west of where 9 intersects 8 from the north.
Nicollet County: Snowy Owl on County 18 at 403 ave.
All these owls were perched roadside in the midday sun.
There was a Rough-legged Hawk on State 22 west
I was able to relocate one of the Snowy Owls in Sibley County around 11:30
this morning. It was along CR9 south of Arlington, perched on a power pole
alongside the driveway for fire number 25786. Presumably this is the same
bird that Denny Martin found yesterday.
