Thought it was interesting to see and hear a group of 20 Tundra Swans flying
north along the Mississippi river over the UMN campus against the wind and
snow. Tough to spot but I heard other groups calling. Has anyone else seen
swans migrate in snow storms?

This is all I found on the 1918 Migratory Bird Act that is aimed at game
birds.
P.L. 105-312, Migratory Bird Treaty Reform Act of 1998, amended the law to
make it unlawful to take migratory game birds by the aid of bait if the
person knows or reasonably should know that the area is baited.
Paul was looking out the window and saw an Eastern Phoebe. It is hanging around
the feeding area.

I am looking out our kitchen window and I counted 34 Fox sparrows foraging on
the ground below our cedar trees. Paul noticed Fox Sparrows on the south side
of our house also. This snow really brought the birds out in our yard. The
brown creepers are also foraging around.

I just got an email from one of our bus drivers that she found a Snowy Owl

this morning in Meeker County. She has reported Snowy Owls to me before.
