Thanks to Tony Lau, Ron and Erika Sitz I was able to enjoy the Western
Kingbird right at the spot listed below. I headed for the West side of the
parking lot and there it was (about 7:00 AM this morning).

Pete Makousky called and asked me to post for him: he just drove off from the
Herman Sewage Treatment Ponds and forgot to remove his really expensive camera
from the hood of his car before driving off. If anyone sees it or happened to
pick it up please let us know. He was on his way to our farm
This morning I spotted a beautiful Prothonotary Warbler in Elm Creek Park
Reserve in NW Hennepin Co. It was seen at the pedestrian bridge over Elm Creek
that is just north of the parking lot for the mountain bike trail at the end of
W. Hayden Lake Road. From Hwy 169 in Champlin, W. Hayden Lake
Two male Hooded Warblers singing in Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Dakota
County this morning; good looks at both birds. The first was in the area
around trail marker 48, east of Portage Lake, the second was along the
trail between 43 and 41, in the area of the information signboard "Building
Leba
Found Loggerhead Shrike between 150 and 160 St north of Herman on Hwy 9 just
across fr north end of airport.

At Buffalo River State Park in Clay County this morning at around 8:30 I
got the male Spotted Towhee again. I also found a female Eastern Towhee
that appeared to be paired up with the male Spotted Towhee.
There was also a Common Raven calling frequently in the park. I later saw
it harassing a Ba
My wife and I found a very cooperative Black-billed Cuckoo this morning
calling and visible in a number of locations (maybe two birds) from the
woods near the playground in the West side to woods nearest the Southeast
corner of the park. We also heard the bird calling last night on the bike
path

White-winged Dove during our visit, we did get to see lots of other birds there
including Orchard and Baltimore Orioles. Thanks for the
got skunked again last night on the white-faced ibis, but did see Ruddy Duck,
Hooded Merganser, Black-Bellied Plover(very distinctive call), Green Wing Teal,
2 cattle egret and many others.

Belated message: May 29
A cerulean warbler was singing and foraging in a cottonwood here (Stillwater
area) this morning.
There is a notable dearth of tree swallows and phoebes here this year.
Anecdotal evidence suggests the phoebe scarcity is a continuing effect of last
year's April and May sn
has just shown up for breakfast.
