The second field season of sandhill crane research is about to begin and
observations are needed from the following counties:
Aitkin, Becker, Beltrami, Cass, Clay, Clearwater, Crow Wing, Douglas,
Grant, Hubbard, Itasca, Mahnomen, Norman, Otter Tail, St. Louis, Todd,

On Saturday morning, I saw what I identified as a male Western Tanager
across the street from 150 E Travelers Trail, near the NW corner of
Crosstown West Park in Burnsville. I am a novice birder but this bird was
distinct.
