Hey birders,
A visit to friends up near Kasota Prairie took me past a pair of Loggerhead
Shrikes harassing a Red-tailed Hawk on a powerline. These birds are being
seen in extreme northern Blue Earth County along 570th Avenue. Take CR5
north from Mankato (3rd Avenue) and turn west on 238th Stre
Today while fishing with the family I came across four Caspian Terns at the
outflow of Green Lake which is in the NE corner of the lake. The Terns were
in a backwater just south of the main outflow on the east side of Co. Rd. 4.
Two of them flew west out over Green Lake and didn't return, but at

I was able to find the White-eyed Vireo at Flandrau SP that was recently
reported. Follow the hiking club trail behind the swimming pond to the second
opening at the river (the one with the fence). The bird was calling constantly
mid morning and was 20 feet off the ground in plain sight (not hid
Group of 30 or so Long-tail Ducks at pull off #7702, just north of Brieghton
Beach Park, north of Duluth.
