I use Sibley all the time because of its vocalizations. The illustrations

racing, etc. However, it may simply be a bird that was banded in a bird
banding program. At Springbrook we band anything we catch that we are
entitled to band, which is anything besides a hummingbird or waterfowl. I

2 upland sandpipers this morning east of Elkton in a bean field in the midst
of a lot of big wind turbines. Across from driveway 70020 210th St., which
is a turbine access road. 210th St. goes east from CR7 at the south end of
the big town of Elkton.

The USGS does NOT allow banding of Rock Pigeons, which are not only not
native birds but are feral or owned, rather than genuinely naturalized. And
the Bird Banding Lab does not keep records of ownership of pigeons.
To track down owners of pigeons, this website may help.
Potluck Supper Birding Thursday
June 4 at Hyland Park
