Friends of Sax-Zim Bog's third annual Bog BioBlitz was held Saturday June 27th.
50 participants and 10 leaders turned up over 400 species of birds, mammals,
butterflies, dragonflies, spiders, orchids, sedges, wildflowers, amphibians,
fish and more.

This morning (7/10/15) I spotted an adult Common Moorhen with 4 chicks
in tow in the boat access at Nicollet Bay Unit of Swan Lake (2 miles west of
Nicollet on Hwy 14). They were out about 50 yards on the left side moving
in and out of the reeds.
