I have seen a number of inquiries as to whether the Varied Thrush is still
being seen at the cemetery in Marine on St. Croix. It was still present
yesterday, coming periodically to the crab apple tree which still has a good
supply. A bit of patience might be in order-it can take a while
The Pileated Woodpeckers returned to their demolition stump yesterday;
afterwards they flew to the top of nearby Hackberry trees and fed on
berries. This feeding behavior involved some up-side-down acrobatics!
