In what has been a very slow start this spring in Brown County, today was
very active. 19 Warbler species in Flandrau SP and Minnecon park with the
highlight being a beautiful adult Prothonotary Warbler in the woods to the
left of the new boat ramp at
Hey birders,
I've been coming home to lunch and lots of migrants. Here are the
highlights from my yard for the last couple of days:
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Baltimore Oriole
Gray Catbird
Yellow-throated Vireo
Blue-headed Vireo
Warbling Vireo
Philadelphia Vireo
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Ora
First Indigo Bunting at our feeders this morning. Interestingly first male
and female Rose breasted Grosbeaks and male Northern Orioles also at the
same time. Great Crested Flycatchers calling for several days, but not much
else new. Had a report of an American Bittern calling in a nearby marsh,
bu
Andy Nyhus just called to report that he and Dedrick Benz are looking at a
Glossy Ibis in Traverse County. The bird is at the edge of the cattails in
a marsh on the south side of CR 2, 0.7 miles east of CR 3. This is roughly
8 miles east of Browns Valley.
