Subject: Yellow Rail, Brown County (Cottonwood River
While using a tractor to harvest seed today I flushed a Yellow Rail from a
prairie restoration near the west end of Cottonwood River Scientific Natural
Area, Brown County. The bird flew about 100 feet.
The timing and location seem to match my previous observations of this
species during fall
at feeders and feeding on ground with Lincoln Sparrow

A Northern Mockingbird has been present for several days. It has been found in
the mountain ash trees with fruit along the gravel service road in front of the
Endion station cider house in Canal Park. This is just across the lawns from
the bathroom building on the lakewalk and near Lake Avenue
