For those of you who know Mike Mulligan, he turned 85 yesterday. Mike was an
active and fine Minnesota birder until he and his wife moved to Calgary about
15 years ago. If he was here you would meet him at the scene of almost any
recently discovered bird worth chasing. Upon arrival in Canada he
The Northern Mockingbird previously found by the MBW group at Bayside Park
in Silver Bay is still present this morning, feeding on Mountain Ash near
the beach/picnic area.
Also had a low Peregrine fly-by.

Just a reminder that the Paper Session is only a month away (December 3,
registration form on the website). I have already received quite a few
donated books for the book sale that day. If you have not contacted me yet
and you do have books to donate please do so within the next couple of
weeks.
At about 1:30 today I discovered a flock of 79 Greater White-fronted Geese on
Ogechi Lake in Mille Lacs County. Ogechi Lake is west of Mille Lacs Lake and is
a part of Kathio State Park. The geese were seen from Vineland Road about 1/2
mile west of Hwy 169.

Perhaps the flock that Herb Dingman reported is the same flock that flew
low over Dorset about 12:30 today. I had estimated the flock size at 75.
They were heading SSW and flying low, maybe 300 feet. They were giving
their squealy calls continuously.

While deer hunting today near Bertha in Todd county, I saw 4 large
flocks (125-250/flock) of migrating white fronted geese shorty after
the cool front passed and wind shifted. Never seen this species in
Todd county in the fall before and other than individual birds, I
almost never encounter this s
