The 2 Greater White-fronted Geese reported by Kris Moulton at the Pine City WTP
were still present as of 1:45 today. Seen from the east side of the ponds
(near the school bus garage).

I am taking a break from the ugly northeastern Minnesota weather. During
today's mountain bike ride on trails next to the Pacific Ocean in Costa Rica I
found a Streak-Backed Oriole in the process of building a nest. I have 13
images which I took over the course of two seconds of the oriole in th
We and the cats have enjoyed the entertainment of viewing the sparrows in the
yard. I suspect that the weather up north has slowed their migration. I have
known other years when there were many WTSP, but in the 50+ years of watching
our yard, this is the largest accumulation. My high count seen
2 present at Pine City sewage ponds yesterday. Reported by friend with

This afternoon (Sunday) Jim Ryan and myself found an American Avocet on
Emily Creek on the west side of Milan Highway 40 bridge across Lac qui
Parle Lake in Lac qui Parle County. The bird had previously been reported
by Jason Frank on Saturday during the Salt Lake Festival. Leaving the
