Not as many birds as yesterday, but still a good variety
with 11 species seen. The usual suspects plus previously
mentioned dunlin, Wilson's phalarope (including one
stunningly bland male) also stilt sandpipers, white-rumped,

After a rather slow spring, Lake Byllesby is living up to its reputation as
a great shorebird spot today. This morning there were several hundred
shorebirds, including Stilts, Leasts, Pecs, Semipalmated, Baird's, and
White-rumped Sandpipers, plus Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Semipalmated
Quick look in the rain at noon turned up,
Common terns
Black tern
Caspian terns
The Ross' Goose was not present.

Looking at a handful of flooded fields this morning in Washington County,
but found zero shorebirds. Damp is maybe a better word than flooded, as
standing water was fairly minimal and when there was some I only found
geese and mallards. However, at the corner of Lake Elmo Ave. and Hudson
Rd.

Saw one male this morning. It has not returned. 550th Ave. a mile north of
CR2, under the feeders.

I found two Connecticut Warblers in the small woodlot in the SE corner
(11th Avenue side) of Veterans Memorial Park at 10:30 AM. The birds were
singing and I also saw the warblers skulking in a lilac bush.
Also present were Mourning, Golden-winged, Chestnut-sided, Magnolia,
Tennessee Warblers
North Ottawa Impoundment
