Jerry, Carol, Connie Jo and Scott Dirks found the following noteworthy birds at
N Ottawa today:

One of the two King Rails was seen along the flooded portion of 250th street
where previously reported. We were east of the flooded portion standing near
the road intersection by the culverts, looking west. The bird was observed
several times mid-morning as it walked in and out of the vegetation on the
portion of 250th between the flooded areas.

During this time two Black-necked stilts flew in to the near edge of the
flooded area of the road and remained for at least 20 minutes in plain view.

About 1:40 pm while driving east on 250th street (the south edge of Ottawa
impoundment) about 4/10ths of a mile east of the southwest corner of the
impoundment we all clearly saw a Common Gallinule swimming out into the channel
from the vegetation between the south edge of the channel and the road.

A little later we once again observed the King Rail in the location on 240th
Street described above.
