To add to recent White-winged Crossbill sightings in the Twin Cities, today I
observed flocks of 6 and 15 at Rebecca Lake Park Reserve and Crow-Hassan Park
Reserve, respectively. Both observations were of flyover groups, and I never
saw neither flock land. I also had five other finch species
Several American Robins have appeared under my feeders and in my heated
birdbath this morning. I hope the are eating the winterberries growing there.
Do birds eat them? The brushy area near our pond also has some berries growing.
