They are still present today. Not there when I arrived, only a few canada and
mallards present. But I walked around the pools and a few minutes into the
walk several waves of geese came in. About 800-1000 by he time I left, across
two of the pools. Amongst them were the two snow geese, hoode
Long tails still there today at 2:20. Seen where chain link fence stars on
east side as described. Spotted by eye. Verified by binoculars. Beautiful
view fairly close. I watched for ten minutes as they fished then I left. No
legal place to park in that area.
Thanks for finding and posting
The 'Minnesota Birding News' app is a good app for sightings, links to other
apps etc. perhaps more info than a new birder would want but it is a good app
that brings multiple feeds together in single space

Did anyone lose something on the wilkie blue lake trail in the last day or two?
If you can describe it to me i can return it. Found on the trail leading to
the blind on the lake item seems likely it was a birder that lost it.
Email back to me privately .. no need to clutter the group
I tagged it as a domestic breed

Where do people park to view the marsh? If I remember it is quite narrow and
not very safe parking in that area Do you simply park further up the road
where there might be more shoulder and walk back?

Same thing seen on Monday, about 5 folks gathered in the field perhaps 15 feet
from the bird. As I arrived another fellow got out of his car and walked
across the field to take pictures. the owl got tired of this audience and flew
across the field to a pole near me. The people left the field
I saw one in Scott Cnty at the Lawrence WMA 3 or 4 weeks ago... So I'm guessing
it's not abnormal to see them this far south.
