to wonder if the owl
has staked out the boxes as hunting sites and will deter the Wood Ducks from
nesting. In the past I have seen the owls use the boxes for brief periods, but
only in fall.
Thoughts?

If nesting is still a possibility, should I clean out the box entirely and
start over or leave it alone? I did remove the pellets.

I will be driving from the Twin Cities to Lutsen. Any suggestions for locating
snowy owls? I have seen various postings, but I am looking for ones that might
be close to Highway 61.
Thanks.

I am trying to improve my birding skill with waterfowl and shorebirds. I have
seen the posts about the Bass Ponds at MV WR, but wonder if there are
opportunities if there are good opportunities closer to home (Golden Valley).
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
