The adult gray phase Gyrfalcon first reported by Jim
Mattsson on Dec. 25th was again seen today, Dec. 26 at
11:45 a.m. just west of the town of Hastings, MN Dakota
County. The bird was seen near the intersection of Hwy 55
and CR 42. After unsuccessfully cruising the general
vicinity, we went North on CR 42 (also marked Mississippi
Trail) for about 1.5 miles to near the entrance of Spring
Lake Reserve. The bird flew directly overhead, hassling
numerous ducks in flight, who seemed to be milling around
in disarray. The bird then headed south over Hwy 55.
