Susan and I found a Snowy Owl in Rice County at 4:10pm today located along Kane
Ave. about .4 mile south of 190th St. E. This is a few miles south of
Nerstrand.
The Snowy was about 150 yards east of the road along a drainage ditch. As a
few other birders arrived, it flew NE some 200 yards.

Late yesterday I found a bird under my feeders and needed an extra pair of
eyes. So Dan Tallman came over and together we agreed that it is a Swamp
Sparrow. I took several very amateurish digi-scope photos and sent one to
Bruce Fall, who confirmed the identification.

The Cinnamon Teal was back on the puddle on 75th after being gone for several
hours. The puddle is just opposite the eastern end of the rail cars.

alone at the time I saw it, but flew off in an apparent attempt to
join a flock of Cedar Waxwings that flew by the area.

. Would it be possible to get permission to use your
photo from the MOU website? I am thinking of the photo at
http://moumn.org/gallery/index.php?region=MN dated May 2005.
Thanks for considering this.

We do get Goldens in Rice County, but reports are few and far between.
This is pretty old news, but simply couldn't get to posting it before now.

. You would have to pick them up - I am in Northfield - but they are
boxed (in five Louis Jadot, Macon Villages boxes, themselves a real treat!)
and I would even help you load them.
Thanks,
