We've got a gorgeous Indigo Bunting at our back yard feeders today. He's joined
the pair of Red-breasted Grosbeaks, Baltimore Orioles and plenty of American
Goldfinches. It's a rainbow in my yard!

At 8:45 this morning, I watched a flock of 8 snow geese flying due north along
Bavaria Road on the edge of Chaska and Victoria. Also saw cormorants and Canada
geese coming through the area.
Happy spring (at last)!

Just walked the dog along Bavaria Hills Trail in Chaska and passed a tree
filled with 20+ Cedar Waxwings filling up on berries. This morning about 10 am,
at the dog park in Victoria, an Osprey landed in the top of a tree before
sailing off to check out the nearby lake. Lovely birding weather!
I am sitting fifteen feet from the peanut feeder swinging on my back porch,
which is currently hosting an enormous male Common Flicker. Twenty minutes ago,
it was the male Pileated Woodpecker taking his turn at lunch. What a gorgeous
day to enjoy the birds!

My husband, Tom, and I took a walk about 5 pm and saw three Sandhill Cranes
flying overhead near 41 and Pioneer Trail. Around 2 pm in the same area, I
watched two immature eagles engaging each other in the sky, locking talons and
tumbling down. Very cool acrobatics.
