I located the light Snowy Owl at 8:00 sitting 400 yards out in a plowed field
north of 700th St and 1/2 mile west of 110th Ave. It was still in the same
location at 4:00. I was heading home along 700th and spotted what I thought
was the other Snowy Owl sitting on a utility pole 1/4 mile west
Since last Sunday (1/20) one or both of the owls have been seen every day
except Thursday and Friday. I located Snowy Owl #1 this morning around 7:40.
Initially on a utility pole along 700th St. 1/2 mile west of 110th Ave. Then
flew north about 1/2 mile landing by a white field marker post.
Both Snowy Owls were seen this AM around 8:00. #1 was last seen on a tiling
ridge west of 120th Ave. north of 700th St. #2 was last seen in a corn stubble
field south of 690th St. 1/2 mile west of 130th Ave. Snowy #2 was also observed
last night around 5:00 sitting on the 690th/130th street
For those of you considering a drive and wondering if the owls are still being
seen in SW Dodge Co. the answer is yes. Both owls have been seen this past
week. This Google map has been updated with the sightings.
One Snowy Owl was present this morning (Jan 5) between 8:00 and 8:30 in the
neighborhood of 700th St. and 110th Ave.

The western portion of 700th St. (Dodge Co.) was the locus of the Snowy
irruption last winter when at least 5 individuals were seen over the course of
3 months.
Below is pasted an email I received regarding the 700th St. Snowy I reported

Thanks for the
Snowy Owl déjà vu of last winter along 700th St. (west of CR 3). Two owls were
seen today around 4:15 PM. The first, a rather dark owl with a dark skull
cap, was seen on a utility pole along 700th between 110th and 120th St. #2 owl
was on a utility pole about a mile east between 120th and

Wrong again. It's been nearly a week (2/29) since seeing a Snowy Owl and again
figured that they had bugged out. I had to go into work an hour earlier this AM
so I was taking my Snowy route for perhaps one final check. Around 6:15 a
white adult male flew south across 690th St. (1/2 mile east

Just when I thought the Dodge Co. Snowy Owl season was ending another is

school site (I asked a local who told me that the site was

this new owl is a nearly pure white adult male. This is
One final post on the Dodge County Snowy Owls in case there are some birders

All three previously reported Snowy Owls are present. South of 690th St.

I altered my usual route to work this morning to search for the two Snowy Owls
on 700th St. reported by Brett and Janice Culver on Sunday. I found one of

I observed the 700th St. Snowy Owl at 5:45 PM sitting on a white field

The 700th St. Snowy Owl was observed this morning between 7:40 and 8:10 on
700th St. west of CR 3 between 120th Ave. and 110th Ave. It flew north from a

The 700th St. Snowy Owl is still present. The fog lifted this morning for my
drive to work and about 8:15 I found the owl west of 110th Ave. sitting 200

last Saturday at 5 PM south of this same stretch of 700th St.
The Snowy Owl adult previously reported is still being seen in the area along

I ran into John Hockema a little bit later who was out searching for the owl.
He reported seeing two individuals on a previous occasion.

On the way home today I was thinking it would be a perfect time for a SNOWY
