On my way to work today, I spotted a great gray owl on Strand Road between N.
Tischer and Lester River Road. Originally he was on a telephone pole
overlooking the road. Then he flew to trees surrounding an open field on the
south side of the road. Strand Road is in Lakewood twp just outside of

This morning the juncos arrived along with a Red winged blackbird. My lone
male cardinal who was here all winter seems to have found a mate. Spring is

There was a N. Hawk Owl on the east side of Rice Lake Rd (across from a
business of some sort), less than a quarter mile north of Martin Rd. north
