There were more than 50 White Pelicans (many of them juveniles) in a flotilla
in the middle of the Mississipi River a few miles north of Stockholm about 3 PM

Saw a barred owl in the conifers at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden this
evening while looking at wildflowers. It was about 10 feet off the ground and
moved to differerent trees but all very close to the walking path.

Saw a pair of Bufflehead at Lake Hiawatha twice in the last week
Saw a pair of Horned Grebes, merganser and greater scaup at Lake Nokomis today

Today, we went to Roberts Bird Sanctuary by Lake Harriet to see yellow rumped
warblers but the surprise for us was to see a black and white warbler as well.

Near the east entrance to Crosby Farm Regional Park (near 35E bridge) were the
following on Crosby Lake:
4 Hooded Mergansers
1 Loon
20 or more Red Breasted Mergansers
at the west end of the lake
20 or more American White Pelicans

At 7 PM Friday night, there were still numerous American White Pelicans and
cormorants (roosting), two Great Blue Herons and a pair of Red-breasted
mergansers on Sweeney Lake, just off Hidden Lakes Road near Courage Center.
