Carol Tveekrem saw a KILLDEER at the Cross River on the
north Shore on the 18th.
Jim Caddy found a female BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER along the
McDavitt Rd, four miles south of the Zim
Don Kienholz reported that the YELLOW-BILLED LOON was seen again today in
Two Harbors. It appeared near the breakwater around 3:15 pm and then worked
its way east from there.

Matthew Bribitzer-Stull reported a gray GYRFALCON from the Duluth
Harbor this morning. The bird was perched low on some rocks in the
Port Terminal area and then flew to the top of grain elevators across
the harbor in Superior.

I just received a call (4:26) saying that over 70,000 hawks have been counted
at Hawk Ridge today. Apparently the stream of birds has shown no signs of
slowing
yet.
