I have seen many references to the idea that buckthorn causes diarrhea in
birds. Not this note but other articles. So here is a link to an article
that refutes that belief. I also have copied a relevant passage from the
article.
Went to look for the Cranes in Carver County and missed out. Saw several people
and no one had seen them today.

and found the subject line FOY birds. Bob also told us he saw Spotted Sandpiper
and Orange-crowned Warbler yesterday around town.

This morning Chuck Krulas and I observed 3 American Avocets at Willow Creek
Reservoir. We also heard Field Sparrow, Greater Yellowlegs, many Wilson's Snipe
and saw a Swainson's Hawk at a previous year's nest. John Hockema reported he
heard a Brown Thrasher while viewing the Avocets.
