At Riverside Park in St. Paul Park (Washington Co) this morning I went looking
for some
Golden-crowned Kinglet photo-ops. I didn’t find a single GCKI but I saw lots of
Brown Creepers,
Ruby-crowned Kinglets, a few Hermit Thrushes and a surprise pair of Tufted
Titmice.
The park is a small one
I saw 8 at Colville Park on 3/28 (Monday).

first found by Wayne Feder several days ago.
Kevin Smith and I went to Wells on Friday. After a long cold search the bird
was finally found south of County 109 and just west of 560th Ave.

2 ponds north of Highway 109 (Waseca Co).
NOTE – there are 2 more ponds south of Highway 209 that do not show up on the

The Common Eider was seen today (Dec 22) on the harbor side of Canal Park in
Duluth in the vicinity of 8th St and Minnesota Ave.

For all of those who might be interested in where some of “our” shorebirds go.
Iquitos is on the Amazon River in the middle of the Amazon Basin. Amazing that
they already have lots of shorebirds that far south.

Yoli and I went to Faribault Co near South Walnut Lake to find the whimbrel
reported yesterday. The flooded field close to 530th Ave (exit 134 on Highway
90 – go north 1/2 mile) was almost dry but did have a few shorebirds. We had
better views by going north to 125th Ave. Along that road you
