Thanks to the birder who confirmed my ID this morning at Old Cedar in
Bloomington. I haven't been following the hotlines lately and had no idea
there had been an Acadian Flycatcher singing at the crossing of the marsh
boardwalk and Long Meadow Lake trail just west of the parking lot. Until I
A second Acadian Flycatcher was found this morning at the Bass Ponds
and in the woods below the Kelly Farm.
The Acadian Flycatcher found previously was still at the Old Cedar Ave
Bridge on the path out to the observation deck.
Five Willow Flycatchers are in the loop from the bridge over to
At 10:15 this morning there was an Acadian Flycatcher on the Bluff
Trail at the Old Cedar Ave Bridge. It was calling at the start of the
trail out to the observation deck when I left.

The bird was still seen and heard this afternoon at 2:00. It was seen on
both sides of the path between where the stream runs over the path and the
little wooden bridge.

The Acadian Flycatcher was observed at 6:05 - 6:15 pm, just East of the
first bridge on the trail West of the parking lot at the Old Cedar Avenue
Bridge. It was singing during the entire time, I observed the bird. But it
was only doing a call note, not the the full "pizza" song.
The Acadian Flycatcher is still being seen and heard at the Old Cedar
Avenue Bridge on the west bluff trail. It is generally within a
hundred feet of the first short wooden bridge past the trail out to
the observation deck.

At 9:15 this morning I saw a singing Acadian Flycatcher on the lake side of
the bluff trail 50 yards or less past the first (short) walkway at Old Cedar
Bridge. I don't recall seeing or hearing this species here before. Jim

I heard an Acadian Flycatcher 1.7 miles east of Zodiac Rd on Headquarters
Road. I thought I heard a second one closer to Zodiac on Headquarters, but it

This morning around 11:00am, I heard an Acadian Flycatcher signing at the
Richard Anderson Park in Eden Prairie. This nifty
This morning an Acadian Flycatcher was at Miesville Ravine County Park on
the Dakota County side or the north side of the road. It was out in the
center as I walked along the bluff trail. Also there were several
Yellow-bellied Flycatchers.
In the past two days I have seen eight flycatchers.

Take the trail along the bluff out of the north parking lot. It was about
half way to the first loop off to the right.

Sunday afternoon there was a strong-singing ACADIAN FLYCATCHER at Beaver
Creek Valley SP in Houston County.
I heard it at the start of the Steep Rock Trail, which begins on the
right side of the road that leads back to the group camp. It was singing
PEET-sa about every 15-20 seconds.
