Birding today with some birders from Indiana. Arrived at the bog at 7:20am for dawn owling. Sax Zim Bog: - No Hawk Owl seen near the intersection of Co. Rd 7 and Co. Rd 28. Made 3 visits looking for the owl. -No Great Gray Owl on McDavitt Rd or the Admiral Rd. Good News: - 2 Black-backed Woodpe

I drove around saxzim on the 26th and did not find much beyond 3 mature bald eagles and 1 northern shrike. I looked extensively for the hawk owl and could not find it. I'm going to Canosia in the morning to look for woodpeckers per mike cary's recent post, take care. Shawn Zierman. *
