I went out with Amber Burnette to Dakota County this morning and saw
the 3 loggerhead shrikes on 180th street between Fisher and Emery

140th St. Marsh
Around 6:30 pm a flock of Lapland Longspurs touched down on the mud flats,
then flew south over the fields. There was also a flock of foraging
Short-billed D
Recent travels around Dakota County show that the fields have dried out and no
longer are inviting habitat for shorebirds.
The sod fields (Castle Rock, Empire area) are also dry. Many of the marshes
are swollen and the shoreline is in the
vegetation Other shorebird sites:
