All: The two Whimbrels at Purgatory Creek Recreation Area last evening were *not* seen this morning. I was there from 0730 to 0900, and spoke with Steve Carlson who had been there since before 0600, and both of us "came up empty."
Actually, "came up empty" isn't quite right, as I tallied just under 270 shorebirds of 10 species, with a single American Golden-plover being the most interesting of the lot. Phil Chu Department of Biology St. John's University Collegeville, MN 56321
