I haven't seen any redpolls since two on Wed.
On my way to work on Friday (cty rd. 14 east of hwy 78) I saw my first of the
year bluebird, kingfisher, tree swallow & pintail duck. I also spied another
E. meadowlark, many mallards, a few red head ducks, a pair of northern
shovelers, canada ge
I saw a beautiful male Harrier this morning on cty rd. 14 north of the city of
Ottertail about 1 mi. east of Hwy 78 . He was cruising low, as they often do,
over a field.

The pine grosbeaks have continued a sporadic appearance. I spotted 3 both
today and yesterday. I cut up an extra apple and put it in the tray feeder
they frequent. Can't tell if they've eaten any or not.
The mourning dove made a brief cameo this afternoon and the cardinal pair were
back this

We had 2 female red-winged blackbirds mixed in with a flock of 75 males
(good odds for the girls) and a couple of starlings and grackles. Also 1
fox sparrow visiting today.

Nice to see some birds moving through the area today in spite of the =
snow.
Along Hwy 78, 1.2 mi. south of
New migrants in my yard yesterday (5/8) included: Yellow warblers &
Redstarts. Today (5/9), the Baltimore Oriole and Rose-breasted Grosbeak
made their appearance. White-throated sparrows are still here.
New today along Co. Hwy. 14 west of Richville, I saw a pair of Redhead
ducks, Bobolinks, and
