Several years ago baltimore orioles and robins both nested in the branches of an elm tree in my backyard, and a flicker used a nestbox on the same tree. The elm has long since gone. I don't think you should count the house sparrow nest. In fact, you should not let them reproduce. > I have a tr

I'm well aware of the house sparrow issue. If I destroy the house sparrow nest now there's a good chance they could retaliate and destroy the eggs of the other species in the tree--I've seen it happen on bluebird trails. -- Sharon Stiteler Uptown, Minneapolis the official bird lady of www.neil
