At the new settlement ponds on the west side of Wirth Lake this afternoon, I
watched a solitary and two spotted sandpipers merrily probing away while 2
Canada geese strenuously objected to my presence. The birds were seen on
the mud flats in the lake at the outflow, as well as in the pond on the far
side of the footbridge.

This morning and this afternoon, orioles here and there, yellow rumps, ruby
crowneds and the rest of the usual suspects throughout the park. The fox
kits in the wildflower garden come out to play between 5 and 6pm.
