I saw a flock of over 100 Tundra Swans this afternoon. Flying south towards the
Mississippi. With this cold snap I'm guessing Alma Wisconsin should have
increased numbers.

While driving home from work today I 'looped' the city lakes and found 47
tundra swans on Lake Calhoun and 49 on Lake Harriet... mostly adults, but
some first-year birds. The gulls were most active but with my compact
binocs and the sleet coming down it was difficult to ID any. One very large,
3 separate barking flocks of Tundra Swans heard in Minneapolis tonight.
All going toward Wabasha.

Had my first Tundra Swans (5 of 'em) of the fall Monday Evening at Weaver
Bottoms. Also gobs of dabbling ducks - yet to see many divers down here in
SE.
A buzz through Whitewater turned up several bluebird flocks, lots of
Kinglets, 1 Field Sparrow, and lots of White-throated Sparrows.
