There is still time to join the 41st annual Salt Lake Birding Weekend in the
western Minnesota counties of Lac qui Parle, Yellow Medicine and Big Stone.
This event is free and open to all who are interested, no pre-registration is
needed. This is great family event and appropriate for birders at all levels of
experience. Meet on Saturday, April 23 at 7 AM at the Marietta American Legion
to join guided car caravans for tours of the best birding areas.
We will be seeing the end of the waterfowl migration and the start of the
shorebird migration. Every year unexpected and interesting birds show up such
as Say's Phoebe, White-faced Ibis, Prairie Falcon, American Avocet or Snowy
Egret.
