Put up and filled my "winter feeders" along Old Vermilion Trail (a dirt road,
not a hiking
trail) just outside of Duluth this morning. More information on my blog
including a map ...

The past three days have seen some interesting activity at the feeders.
Monday and Tuesday are Project Feederwatch count days for me and produced two

clearing crew up on Admiral Road was fast approaching the famous feeders.
From the looks of what's been done further south on Admiral, the trees where
the feeders hang will probably be cut down.
This is the

He was the manager for the area

Toss out the hummingbird feeders you are presently using and buy the wide
mouth, easy to take apart, easy to clean, cheap ($3.98) feeders at Walmart. I
did and am very happy with them.

I wash my hummingbird feeders in the dishwasher. If they're too long for
that, into the garbage they go. I prefer several small feeders scattered
around to one big feeder anyway. But my mother-in-law uses a bigger feeder,
and a long bottle brush to clean it.

Be sure the dirt isn't mold. Some molds are quite toxic to birds
I have been enjoying being home this summer, yet have been remiss in
setting up my usual feeding stations. The combination of rich sunshine
and regular rainfall has led to My Pagoda Dogwood trees being heavy with
