Josh Watson and I sighted an adult female 
Barrow's Goldeneye in Fergus Falls on the Otter 
Tail River flowage (E Corvou/Concord).  
Swimming and courting with a male Common 
Goldeneye, look for full bright yellow bill (roadway 
paint strip color), steep forehead, elongated 
"mane," grayish mottled body with white neck 
contrast to chestnut head color. Perhaps the 
same individual wintering in this location as in 
recent years. mjb
