Because of health reasons, I decided at the last minute to check the causeway 
for gulls, etc. A swirling mass of 500 gulls finally landed at 5:05pm. They all 
appeared to be Herring Gulls except one 1st cycle Ring-billed Gull. I saw no 
white-winged or dark-mantled gulls. I have yet to see even a Thayer's Gull at 
this location this season. Other than the Mute Swan, a single alt. male 
Red-breasted Merganser was the only notable species.
