Some brief information from yesterday on a few owls that I don't think has been
posted on mou-net….

- The continuing N Hawk Owl on Martin Rd in Duluth was relocated, ranging in
the open area between 0.8 and 1.1 mile W of Jean Duluth Rd. This owl's location
is sometimes given as only a quarter mile W of Jean Duluth, which is heavily
wooded on both sides of Martin Rd (not typical hawk owl habitat).

- Two Snowy Owl were present in late afternoon in Superior WI: one along Tower
Ave just W of the municipal airport (as others have posted); and another along
28th St near the RR crossing just E of the high school and W of Hill Ave (this
owl has apparently been present for several weeks, but I don't think it has
been reported on mou-net). We did not check the Snowy Owl site by the Calumet
refinery along Hill Ave, because there is no shoulder along this road and maybe
only one place to park at a gate (which may attract the attention of a
no-nonsense security guard). As far as I know, there have been no Snowy Owls
reported in MN in the Duluth-Two Harbors area since December.

- And what may be a new Great Gray Owl was seen by Bob Russell and others along
Lake County Rd 2, 9.8 mile N of Two Harbors (presumably measured from Hwy 61).
