Yesterday I was watching the goldfinches and dark eyed juncos at my feeder when I saw a bird that looked different from the rest. Brown with streaked sides with faint patches of yellow, an eye ring, and a yellow crown. Later I saw the yellow rump that gave it away- yellow-rumped warbler, the earliest I have ever seen! I saw it again this morning, trying to cling to the suet feeder as is swayed in the wind.
