Saw my first meadowlark of the year at an unexpected location - a grassy
area on New Brighton Blvd. between Broadway and 36 in Northeast
Minneapolis. It was in nonbreeding plumage.

At Reservoir Woods in Roseville, I welcomed backthe red-winged blackbirds.
I think the red-tailed hawk being harassed by one was less happy with their
return. Also saw two very cooperative hermit thrushes, and six turkeys
roosting high in several tress.
