I was visiting my mother in Aitkin County today . 15 fox sparrows with one
singing vigorously by itself.I have never heard one singing before and thought
they would only sing on breeding grounds. Also golden crowned kinglets feeding

Except for a couple short stretches, I've had Fox Sparrow at my feeder
continuously since November 6th of last year.

First Fox Sparrow of the season this morn.
Most of the White-throated Sparrows seem to be gone this morning.
In place a dozen Juncos in stead of the 2 we have had for about
two weeks.

in Dassel in Meeker Cty. They made it through the cold snaps just fine.

Had a single Fox sparrow on the ground beneath my platform feeder this
morning. Have good photos. It was here last week but it flew before I could
get my camera.Location is: Fillmore County in rural Chatfield.

The Fox Sparrow is still in our yard in Dassel feeding, it has been here for
over a month.

At the General Mills Research Nature Area this morning a Fox Sparrow was
poking around the brush with many White-throated Sparrows, 1 White-Crowned
Sparrow, and about 3 or 4 Lincoln's Sparrows.

My "Hero of the Day" was the Fox Sparrow who scratched his way through two
inches of snow under my feeders to get at dropped seeds.

The Fox Sparrow that Linda Whyte mentioned in a post on Nov 30, 2012, continues
to be a regular visitor to the brush pile and the ground under the tube feeder
at the Wild River State Park Visitor Center. Good viewing out the large
Visitor Center windows. The bird looks good and has not changed
Seems rather late for a fox sparrow, but I had one in my yard today. It
has something wrong with its right foot. I snapped a photo through the

I also have two male northern flickers coming to the feeder. There's a
white-breasted nuthatch roos
