I've been corrected. Sadly, I have found a white throated sparrow that is
beautiful albeit not a golden crowned sparrow. Thanks for all your feedback!

Update!
For the third day in a row, I have spotted a Golden Crowned Sparrow in my back
yard. I am not sure if it is the same one or if there are many in the area. I
believe that I lured him in with a call this morning as I was getting repeated
responses to the call. I am sorry to report that I
Golden Chrowned Sparrow stumped me for the past two days!
None of my resources showed it but when I expanded outside of my local birds,
there it was. A long way from home in my Bryn Mawr Minneapolis neighborhood!
Cheers!

The Golden-crowned Sparrow was relocated yesterday morning (3/25) by

The GCSP was still being seen as of this morning at and
near the feeders along side of the house on the NE
corner of 44th Avenue East and Regent Street. The bird
is irregular at best however, so it might require some
patience. There is a tray of millet

I wasn't quick enough to get to my camera yesterday, but was able to fire off a
shot (through glass) when I saw the gcsp over lunch today. It's the first photo
that I have of this bird that doesn't have snow in the background.

Duluth's golden-crowned sparrow was seen twice yesterday: once in the morning,
then again at around 3:30 p.m. I scattered seed on our deck last night and have
seen the bird again today between 12 and 12:30 p.m. This is the first that I
have seen the bird on consecutive days since December.

We hosted and photographed a first year GCSP today from 1:00pm - 4:30pm. It
made 3 appearances during this time and stayed for 2-5 minutes each time. The
problem is that the bird is ONLY visible from inside our living room. There

Another brief appearance in our yard between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. today. As
elusive as this bird has been, it has now been seen in each of the past four

The immature golden-crowned sparrow was seen at our feeders in Duluth from 7:15
to 7:45 this morning. It is the first time that I have seen the bird since
January 19.
It is snowing this morning, as it has been on almost all of the days that this
bird has appeared here.

The immature golden crowned sparrow made one of its infrequent visits to our
feeder this morning at around 7:45. It was the first sighting of the bird
since January 19. It's occurred to me that most of this bird's appearances have
been on mornings when it has snowed or is snowing. I wonder what
